Chilliwack Lake

This is very early in the morning when the sun was rising (on the left). The light was changing every minute. I believe parts of the impression of this scene will likely become an abstract painting down the road.

Streambed

This quick sketch was a disaster in the making. The wind was blowing. I kept dropping items into the large rocks I was sitting on and the cruncher was when my dog came and put his paw right in the middle of my watercolour paints. I called it quits then.

Squamish Spit II

This is the same location. I simply turned my chair. The estuary is a remarkable assortment of streams, rotten old pilings, sand and birds.

One of two sketches done on the long weekend. I particularly liked this location. Would gladly go back, oil paints in tow.

Roads Travelled

This is a sketch done at Chilliwack Lake. I am going to post sketches that may end up as studio paintings. The information gathered on location is very valuable as the recollection of what it was that attracted me to the scene is embedded in my memory. When I look at the photos taken and the quick sketch the whole scene comes back.
