Revisited

There was a little something missing in this one and I wasn't up to posting it on my website. Then today, a nice sunny day, I am looking at it and a couple of specks later and full sunshine and now I am happy. CIAO.

Weather Front

You saw this image on Monday. Of the weather front images, I like this one the best. It was truly spontaneous or intuitive, whichever you wish to describe what it is I am doing. Since Monday I have stretched it and placed it onto a 10X10 canvas that is 1 1/2" deep.. Then with the medium and varnish on top it is soft in appearance but hard in surface. Ready to hang. I am asking $150 for this painting.

Mixed Media

On this one I have added paper and pastel. The pastel I added when the medium was wet to see what would happen. This process is interesting because it is very dark and it isn't until everything is totally dry that you know what you have. The pigment of the pastel gets absorbed by the medium so it is quite permanent.

Weather Front VI

This one has pastel on top of the mixed media. I like the way the pastel blends in with the paper.

Weather Front IV

This one is very similar to the first two. Minor changes. I look at the three together and I like them all for different reasons. This one is more true to reality. In the others I like the strong color and color surprises.

What do you think?

Weather Front III

This one is done on a different surface. One I am particularly fond of. It absorbs beautifully, almost the same as rice paper.

Weather Front II

Acrylic on Gessoed Watercolor Paper

I am experimenting on this subject. Trying to use the same theme but experimenting to see if I can get the effect I am aiming for.
