I posted this image about a month ago and as I was looking at it yesterday I realized the sky was really too dark to show off the trees.  So off I went painting in hand to change that.  This feels better.

A friend of mine kept using the wrong title for the last painting I did of a Ewe and so I thought I had
better correct that by creating the painting to fit the title.  I liked the whimsy all around.

Are there any other titles out there that you's like to share?

Somehow I had to do a Daisy today.  It was raining and grey and dreary and I wanted to do something cheerful.

Mountain Meadow 10X14 Oil on Professional Canvas Panel  $150

Right now there is still snow on these meadows but soon there will be spring grass and then a burst of color.  This painting is from Manning Park which is about 1 1/2 hours from here.

The painting is done using mostly transparent oils.

This Ewe was part of the DPW challenge.  I had a lot of fun with the brushwork to create that wooly feel.

This painting is a take on the painting Light Force. The challenge was to take
a warm subject and paint it in cool colors and still get the intent.

I am very happy with the way this turned out.

Sunshine & Lollipops

Sunshine 6X6 Oil on Ampersand Panel $50

The song Sunshine Lollipops was ringing through my head when I did this painting. Seemed quite fitting.

This is a small painting 6X6 but can you imagine it 3 foot square in a room where in the winter time it is dreary outside and you look up at the color? I think it would be great as a large painting. I should try that.

This is an intuitive landscape done on a Gallery wrapped canvas. Painted on the sides so that it can be hung without a frame.

Haleakala

Haleakala 6X6 Oil on Ampersand Panel $50

Haleakala is a volcano on Maui. Shirley and I got up 3:30 one morning to watch the sun rise. We then wandered around to see what else we could find and came upon this seemingly deserted view of the crater. It was the BEST part of the whole trip.

This was one of the many barns that I saw on Whidbey Island nestled amongst the trees. It's a true joy to capture the essence of places like that.

Dreama

Dreama 12X12 Oil on Ampersand Panel

This was the first painting that we did at the Dreama Tolle Perry workshop. The whole group did the same painting and it was amazing how well all of us did under the supervision of Dreama. We worked off of the same photo and did this painting in about 3 lengthy steps. I never would of believed that the whole group could do such similar paintings when we had novice and semi professional painters alike.

I was pleased with my results.

Summers Shadow

Summers Shadow 8X8 oil on panel $75

This painting is done on a Raymar canvas panel. Even on a cloudy day this painting has a high glare.

Springs Glory

My favorite seasons are Spring and Fall. The trees give us all their glory in color.
