poinsettas

Merry Christmas Everyone

At this time of the year we are on the road visiting relatives scattered from Williams Lake, Chilliwack and Princeton. We will return to normal life in the New Year.

I will see you then. In the meantime I wish you a safe holiday season with good food, good friends and joyous laughter.

Warmest Regards
Bente

Trying my hand at some of these animals so I thought it appropriate to title them humorously.

Motley Crew

I don't know how you spell motley but we have sheep in the field where we live and they sure are a mess with their coasts hanging in the spring. I have done a few postcards of them

Kwanka Park

Kwanka Park 12" X 24" Oil on Linen Canvas
$576

Here is the result of the previous quick study. There is a lot of transparent layering so to photograph the image I get a lot of shine. Once it is dry and varnished it will be easier to photograph. If you have any questions do email me.

Nicola Valley Quick Study

Nothing beats being right out there observing nature, the colours, nuiances and listening to the sounds around you. It may of been chilly but well worth it.

Great Bouquet

Since these paintings have already found homes I am not looking up their title, simply having fund renaming them. Wouldn't you absolutely love to have a bouquet like this sitting in a sunny window?

I thought it would be fun to show you some images from the past when I was doing almost a painting a day. Some of these are quite chipper and refreshing. Do let me know what you think by sending me an email.

Quick Study, Mac Donald Park

It is so beautiful at this time of the year. Almost, moreso than our rainy July. It is sunny, warm and there is a light breeze blowing. I just had to go out and do a quick drawing in one of our parks. This is done in Pastel On Gatorfoam. If I do a large painting from this sketch I will call it Indian Summer.

Cheers

Silver Creek Oil on Canvas 18X28 $750

This kind of scene is quite typical of our lakes and streams in British Columbia. Beautiful cedars hanging over stream beds.

Morning Visit

Morning Visit 18X24 Oil on Canvas $575

The light in the morning is quite different when you are painting. This beach on Salt Spring Island was rich with warm tones. Later in the day it was back to greys. I knew there was a reason that I liked getting up early in the morning.
