In case my explanation wasn't clear. This painting will be won by the person whose name is drawn on March 31st.

Sorry for any confusion.

For Japan

This is a 24" X 36" Original Oil Painting that is painted on canvas and framed.

In trying to think of what I could do to help the devastation in Japan I felt the best result would be if collectively a group of people could contribute a small amount that would add up to a larger amount.

So, for each $5.00 that is donated a name will go into a draw on March 31st with 100% of the proceeds going to the Asian Red Cross to help with the disaster relief. Cheques can be sent to myself, Bente Hansen at 201 - 3240 Mt Lehman Rd., Abbotsford, BC, V4X 2M9

This was the best way that I could think of helping and I hope you agree. If you are sending me a cheque please let me know so that I can be sure that your name is entered on the 31st.

My sincere thanks for helping with this.

Motion II

Motion II 20"X24" Oil on Canvas

This painting has a truly fresh feel to it. It somehow surprises me whenever I pass it. Interesting, I'd say.

Memories of Years gone by

Hawaii Blue 18X36 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

As mentioned in my last blog I had decided it had been too long and so I brought out my oil paints even though it isn't warm enough to have my windows opened.

It had been a long time and so when I put the paint out the scent of the paint brought a sudden surprising memory of paint by number paint sets that my sister and I were given for Christmas. The thing was - I hated those sets. For the life of me I couldn't paint inside the lines. Never could and always gave up trying long before it was anywhere near finished. My sister finished hers off nicely and it looked like something. Of course, that didn't help.

What I came to years later was - I will paint as I do and others will paint as they do and all is well.
