Over Mt Cheam

This image is a combination landscape and intuitive. Even though I knew I was painting Mt Cheam it was really an impression of what it may of been like long before settlers populated the area and drained the lake. The intuition and imagination took over.

Enjoy.

California Poppies

This painting was the result of a "Plein Air" painting competition we had a few years ago. A group of us painted in different areas around a small lake that we have in Abbotsford. I truly enjoy the vibrant colours of flowers.

Bella Wetlands

This image was created as a result of my friend Marion and I going painting in Bella Coola. This image was looking out over a marshy area towards the deep mountains. I still have this original image for sale.

I will gladly receive comments and questions at bentecreates@shaw.ca

Marion's blog is http://www.marionrosefineart.blogspot.com/ Marion does some awesome wildlife paintings. Like none I've ever seen anywhere else.

Enjoy

This image was created after a ferry ride to Vancouver Island. The water and cloud formations are always an inspiration. On this particular day it was quite ethereal.

Motion

"Motion"

This is a recent intuitive painting. The original image size is 12x12 painted on the sides so that it can be hung on the wall without a frame. This image is also available in print form from

http://www.bentehansen.myartchannel.com/. The print size is incremental.

Intuition

Intuition

I thought I would start my blog with this image. When I start a painting of this abstract a nature I do not have a preconceived image in mind. The painting builds intuitively and is of a personal nature. The images that I paint are not necessarily the images that you will interpret.

The wonder of it is that as people describe to me what it is they see I too can see the vision they have. This is truly a creative interaction.
