Red Bouquet

Mixed Media on Watercolor paper.

For those of you on Facebook I apologize for this being sent twice. I am going to fix that, somehow. That I haven't figured out yet.

This painting is part of the series I am doing for the "Arts in Bloom" festival coming up in May. It is actually 7"X10" but with my new found knowledge with photoshop and Fine Art America they now have ways of making this into a print in a very large size. Pretty cool.

I am pulling out my oil paints today. There may be snow on the ground and it may not be a good time to have my windows open but I am missing the oils so I am going to give it a whirl. I have learned so much about my acrylics in this past year and can fairly quickly pull something together because of the drying time and if it doesn't work I add layers of paper and glazes and watercolor crayons. After that, if it doesn't work, out it goes and start all over.

With the oils its a much longer process but I miss my color blending abilities and my wonderful palette knives. I will likely work in both over the next while.

I'll keep you posted.

Creative Energy

These are a lot of fun to do. I even added to it in the middle of the night. There is watercolor, acrylic and watercolor crayons. Lots of layers. Lots of energy.

Bouquet

I am getting ready for the Arts in Bloom held here in Abbotsford in May so I am doing some small floral bouquets that I can do up as prints. This is one of them.

Layers

This is the third one, variation on a theme. Mixing painting and getting fascinating results.

The sun is shining so I am hoping to get out this weekend. Cheers

Overcast

Here's the second one. These paintings are done on half sheets of 300 lb watercolour paper. The paper is gessoed and then I play with different combinations of paint. The painting is 15X22.

Variations on a theme

I am continuing on the landscape theme but the following three paintings are in fact 15" X 22" not like the small ones I did a little while ago. I am gearing up to do some large oils again. I am simply waiting for the weather to warm up a bit so that I can open the windows to get some good ventilation going.

Tofino Sketches

I thought I'd put up a few sketches from trips to Tofino. These sketches may be small using whatever material I have at hand - pen, pencil a few pencil crayons. It is likely cold and windy so I try to get a quick impression for my memories sake - take a whole bunch of photos and I am outta here. I love being outside but I don't like being cold.

Cards for Spring

I thought I would do some cards for spring. You can see the fold line on the bottom left where the paint went into the seam. Wouldn't this be a nice gift for a loved one. Contact me if you are interested.
