There was a little something missing in this one and I wasn't up to posting it on my website. Then today, a nice sunny day, I am looking at it and a couple of specks later and full sunshine and now I am happy. CIAO.
You saw this image on Monday. Of the weather front images, I like this one the best. It was truly spontaneous or intuitive, whichever you wish to describe what it is I am doing. Since Monday I have stretched it and placed it onto a 10X10 canvas that is 1 1/2" deep.. Then with the medium and varnish on top it is soft in appearance but hard in surface. Ready to hang. I am asking $150 for this painting.
On this one I have added paper and pastel. The pastel I added when the medium was wet to see what would happen. This process is interesting because it is very dark and it isn't until everything is totally dry that you know what you have. The pigment of the pastel gets absorbed by the medium so it is quite permanent.
This one is very similar to the first two. Minor changes. I look at the three together and I like them all for different reasons. This one is more true to reality. In the others I like the strong color and color surprises.
This is the start of my Red Door painting. When I was in Europe with my Mom I became obsessed with all the lovely doors people had. They painted them in many different colors and styles. I believe this door was actually metal. I had no idea how I would tackle this one.
I love doing these types of misty landscapes in oil and so I am trying to find an effective way of doing them in acrylic. This one is done on gessoed fomecore with a lot of texture underneath. I have used a lot of medium to try and get the same blending as oil. I have also gone back over with quite a few layers of glazing.
I thought I would start the New Year with Hearts. The hearts are for the many friends and kind comments that I receive. I appreciate it more and more each day. I feel blessed and the best way to describe that is with hearts.
This one particular image is a card which a dear friend will receive. That is why there is a line down the middle.
