I am working on a large painting and realized I hadn't posted anything for a while so I have done a few of these mixed media pieces. They are fun to do and I can move things around and experiment before I commit to it. It truly is playing.

We have a beautiful clear sunny day so I could run outside and photograph it.

Night Light

Night Light 16X20 Mixed Media on Archival Foamcore treated with Gesso $320

This painting is mixed media with acrylic paint, ripped paper, pearl threads and layers
of medium sprinkled with copper flakes. It is difficult to photograph with the reflections
of light. I will try later and see if that gives a different image.

I really wanted to do a black painting, not because I am in a black mood. More because
I wanted to do something I have never done before. It has been an enlightening challenge.
One I would recommend to everyone. Step out of your comfort zone. Really, what have to
got to lose but old habits and reactions? I couldn't step away from my Pyrrol Red. Had to do
that part.
