Tapestry

Tapestry  11X11 Oil and CW on single wood panel $75

The panel is not cradled so it would need to be framed.  The panel was coated with gesso at least 3 times.

This is a continuation of me playing with the cold wax and layering.  The title comes from years ago when I did large architectural tapestries.  This one reminded me of the approach that I would take with my hand spun and dyed wool.  I would love to see this one 4 foot square but have no idea how I would go about it technically.  I believe that these little guys will get larger and larger as I become more comfortable with it.

If you look carefully you can see that I have scratched into it vertically to get some of the colors from below to the surface.

Cheers

Bente
